I am holding onto the last few breaths of summer with these Grilled Teriyaki Skewers! Sweet, spicy, garlicky, pure flavour town! You’re gonna want to make these this long weekend!
1. Using a vegetable peeler, peel the smoked tofu very thin and place in a large bowl.
2. In a medium size bowl, combine the soy sauce, garlic and ginger powder, sesame oil, olive oil, maple syrup and sesame seeds together.
3. Pour the marinade all over the tofu and mix to evenly coat. Set in the fridge until your pan heats up, or overnight for more flavour.
4. Preheat a large cast iron pan or your flattop. Thread the tofu carefully through your skewers and place on a hot pan. Cook for 5 minutes, brushing on marinade on one side. Flip and brush the other side with marinade. Once both sides have been cooking for 10 minutes total, add the rest of the marinade to the pan. Cook for a minute to slightly reduce the sauce.
5. Remove the skewers and plate up, top with green onions and did right in!
